Translation of .xls with Trados 7.0

Hello everybody
I need to make a translation of a xls doc with Trados 7.0. I tried to open the xls from TagEdotor, but I did not work
Could somebody help me?Thanks a lot

Can you please describe your problem in more detail? What exactly "did not work"? Did you get an error message?

I opened the TagEditor, and from TagEditor I tried to opened the .xls to be translated, but there appeared a mesagge error: "A sharing violation occurred while accessing C..." (name of the extension)

I opened the TagEditor, and from TagEditor I tried to opened the .xls to be translated, but there appeared a mesagge error: "A sharing violation occurred while accessing C..." (name of the extension)

Is the Excel file you're trying to translate open in Excel? If yes, close it before opening it in TagEditor. (Once you have stored the .xls file as .ttx, you can open it again in Excel, if required.)

Now just one more question. How do you convert a xls into a ttx?

Save as bilingual file in TagEditor Apr 8, 2006

Happens to all of us...

Now just one more question. How do you convert a xls into a ttx?

TTX = Trados tag format - once you have opened the file in TE, save it there as a bilingual file.
