I'm starting the upgrade - step by step, very slowly, since I have lots of work here and can't do just the upgrade - from 5.5 to 7, and would like to have both on my computer. Meanwhile I tried to use T5.5, but although I opened Multiterm and Workbench on T7, word insists on working with T7. Is it possible to change from T7 to T5.5 in word? How can I do this?
I need to continue working (on T5.5) until I am able to complete the full upgrade to T7.

Possible, but not recommended Sep 30, 2005

Hi again,
Several versions of Trados can coexist on the same computer, but this is not recommended, as it may lead to conflicts.

The exception to this rule is MultiTerm 5.5, which can be used alongside Workbench 7 (bear in mind that you need to set the terminology provider in Options - Terminology Recognition Options).

Best regards,
Ralf

Hello Ralf, Sep 30, 2005

What exactly you mean with terminology provider?
In my 2 Multiterms (5.5 + 7 in german) I can't see the "Options/Optionen" button.

Setting in Workbench Sep 30, 2005

Hi,
What exactly you mean with terminology provider?

The application Workbench communicates with to get terminology.

In my 2 Multiterms (5.5 + 7 in german) I can't see the "Options/Optionen" button.

It's a command in Workbench - that's why you're not seeing it in MT...

On a general note, I would strongly recommend only to switch to a new version when you have sufficient time to deal with any problems, and to read the information regarding new functionality.

Best regards,
Ralf

Too late! Sep 30, 2005

Yes, maybe installing T7 in some days, when I eventually could have more time to inform mayself better, would have been the best. But I thought I had to download T7 and softkey right now, in 24 hrs. And I wonder if I will really have more time!

Now that it is already installed I will have to live with it.
Thank you very much for your assistance, Ralf.
