Major disruptive structural change in the translation supply chain is underway
I don't mean to bore colleagues, so let me summarize it: (1) the size of the gross market will increase in 2026 (HT+MTPE+AI), (2) some fields are to grow at high rates (igaming, medical, patents), (3) demand is shifting eastwards (as noted by Teresa, and with all the implications for rates), (4) AI is reshaping (with agentic workflows) large-scale enterprise procurement.
(5) Hyperscale Linguistic Engines providers are capturing a large chunk of demand (the demand that some months or years ago did drive the growth of LSPs).
And yes, it's not a rosy picture for human translators. ▲ Collapse
