Yes, somewhat Apr 28

Over the years, I have built up a solid client base – small but reliable – and I don’t think these clients’ expectations have changed recently, as they continue to demand quality and adherence to deadlines, and in return pay my fees on time. What has certainly changed is the focus of demand, which seems to have shifted eastwards, with prices much lower than those I charge…

No Apr 28

My customer's expectations have remained exactly the same over the years, and I honestly don't know why their expectations would change in the first place.

Yes Apr 28

My main client used to send longer texts and give a decent deadline - say 15,000 words and 2 weeks - but now all the requests I get are for the same day and vary between 500 and 3000 words. Most of the PMs are new and it seems that the company has undergone major restructuring.

All my clients require the same quality as before, of course!

With Maria Teresa: Apr 28

I agree that demand has shifted eastwards, with the bulk coming now from Asian countries. I also have seen that medical, igaming and patent are probably growing at higher rates than the market average.

It depends on the client. Apr 29

Some agencies are eager to promote their AI capabilities and prioritize efficiency and cost reduction, which can change the profile of translators they look for.
At the same time, there are still clients who rely heavily on experienced professionals for quality and nuance, but they are rare.

My customers expect quality within the agreed deadline, whether it's human translation or MTPE. Why or how should that change?
