Semi-retired. Still getting enough work from legacy clients for the SS to dock my pension.

I'm at a satisfying level of income, but after more than 5 years of thorough optimization in every way imaginable I see no longer a path to further increase that income in the future without increasing my rates or jeopardizing my health. I pretty much reached my limits. So from now on it's all about keeping that income stable for as long as possible.

I still have enough work coming in at the moment, but the work has changed. A lot of same-day deliveries. I wanted to create a small jewellery brand and I think I'll have to do it sooner rather than later.

After 20 years in this business and at least another 26 of working life if I'm lucky - I feel a change would be good.

Although I saw a spike in workload around Easter, I categorize it as the last convulsive movements of a dying craftsmanship. My invoicing has collapsed since January, and April will likely be the exception to the rule in 2026. I never had so bad a quarter in 25 years, and I cannot ignore the fact that I might fold this very year.

I'm poised to spring at any immensely paid (preferably legal) opportunity like a kitten on meth.
