Writer and Bitcoin advocate, Joanne Falvey, wants to tell a different story.
The Tale of the Bitcoin Kid is a graphic novel aimed at children between 8 and 10 years old. It tells the story of Alex, his software engineer father and his internationally acclaimed artist mother. Together the three navigate the complicated Bitcoin landscape and emerge with a moral tale of learning and earning.
“I wanted to show the good side of Bitcoin” writer Falvey says. “It has so much potential and is a really exciting development in online currencies. As a mum, I wanted to find a way to introduce kids to the idea of financial literacy and The Tale of the Bitcoin Kid was a great way to do this.”
Bitcoin, the online currency was developed in 2001 as a way of bypassing the transfer fees charged by banks. It was invented by in and since then has grown to a marketplace of over of traders in countries all over the world.
The Tale of the Bitcoin Kid is not the first Bitcoin graphic novel, but is the first one aimed at children. It is available as an eBook at bitcoin marketplaces and through bookstores such as amazon.com.

Turning the Camera Off
To turn the camera off, press the power switch again. The monitor will turn off.

Control hardware includes a Chassis (Rack), Power Supply, 1757-PLX52 Control Processor, XXX Interface, Redundancy Module, and I/O Modules. An optional Battery Extension Module (not shown) is also available. The Chassis is available in 5 sizes - 4, 7, 10, 13, and 17 slots.
1. The Power Supply is separate from the Rack and does not consume any slots. It is mounted on the left end of the Rack. Both 120/240 VAC and 24 VDC supplies are available.
2. The 1757-PLX52 Process Control Module is a double wide, two-board assembly featuring a 100 MHz PowerPC processor and eight (8) Mbytes of RAM with error detection and correction. It supports both non-redundant and redundant controller configurations. Four (4) Mbytes of parity-protected Flash ROM is used for permanent program storage and allows easy upgrades. A built-in lithium battery backs up the controller database, and an optional two-slot wide Battery Extension Module provides a rechargeable option instead of replacing the lithium battery.
