DUBAI: Al Ahli Holding Group (AAHG), a multi-diversified international conglomerate based in the UAE, recently announced the launch of its new subsidiary – Al Ahli Publishing and Distribution (APD).

Inspired by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to establish UAE as a global centre of excellence for the Arabic language, Al Ahli Publishing and Distribution will introduce popular international comic books and magazines in Arabic.

AAHG is the first company outside USA to have the rights for publishing and distribution of leading international comic books in English and Arabic, belonging to top Hollywood studios.

“Al Ahli Publishing and Distribution was inspired by the initial efforts of late His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan to promote Arabic culture and language which is currently being carried forward by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The recent efforts of Sheikh Mohammed that aimed at promoting the Arabic language through Arabisation initiatives have inspired AAHG to introduce international comic books in Arabic,” Mohammed Khammas, CEO of AAHG said. Are you sure it was not an April 1 article? Apr 11, 2015

It seems slightly improbable.

If anything's improbable, Apr 16, 2015

it's the idea that anyone actually buys non-manga comics these days. Even with their massively successful series of films and well-known characters, even Marvel can't pull the same kind of sales they used to any more.
