(1) Happy translating on International Translation Day! (2) September 29th: CAT tool and software day (3) September 30th: Conference for International Translation Day (4) Make sure you get the most out of these free events
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (1) Happy translating on International Translation Day! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Since 2009, ProZ.com has offered free online events to celebrate International Translation Day (September 30th). If you have not already, set aside some time to attend the celebration this year-- you can attend from the comfort of your home or office, sit in on presentations and discussions, network, get special deals on tools for translators, and the events are all free!
This year, the events will take place over two days, on the 29th and the 30th. Attendees will be able to access all event material for at least 90 days after the events, so even if you miss something you can come back and watch it later.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (2) September 29th: CAT tool and software day ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Start things off on Tuesday, September 29th, with a day of free presentations on various tools and software for translators. It is a great opportunity to see what is out there to help you improve your work, to get guidance on tools you are already using, and to check out some special discounts available only during the International Translation Day celebration.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (4) Make sure you get the most out of these free events ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As with any online or in person event, you might learn a thing or two you didn't already know, and pick up some food for thought. But don't forget that networking is just as important. Many freelance translators have stated that good networking has been a valuable source of new clients and work.
So far, over 6,000 language professionals are registered for these events, so you can expect to see colleagues from all around the world and in many different areas of expertise during these two days. A few key things, like entering a bio for the events (under the "My data" section), and making sure that your language pairs and areas of specialization are properly reflected in your ProZ.com profile, can help ensure that you will be able to connect with other professionals.
