Spanish term

sentencia es inhibitoria

Spanish to English Law/Patents Law (general)
I remember seeing this somewhere as "default judgment", but can't find any references. Thank you for any help.

Richard Boulter Apr 15, 2010:
Agree with Tom There are some good suggestions in the Answers, especially under British commonwealth laws, but we really need some further context on the Query to help much. From which country and for which country is the translation being done? Various legal systems use the same terms in very different ways sometimes; also, the laws of a given country can change the implications of result, so that a different translation may be necessary under the target country's laws. A bit more of the text might clarify this a little bit, too. Let's work with this.
Adrian MM. (X) Apr 14, 2010:
Civil, criminal or arbitration The answer, in GB at least, can go 3 different ways, depending on the context: civil =judgment; criminal = sentence; arb. = award. 'Law general' doesn't narrow it down.
