sí, lo de "atenta" es prescindible en inglés porque es un formalismo barroco mexicano (no es crítica, yo soy mexicano)

a polite memo/ letter

I wouldn't say its baroque, allthough youngsters nowadays don't believe much in being polite. I believe it's important to be polite, specially in business.
