atenciones legales

I think this may be a mistake. Should it possibly be retenciones legales? The section is about legal reserves. Does this look right to you native speakers?

"Una vez que se han cubierto todas las atenciones legales, se ha decidido no repartir el resto del beneficio y dotar estas reservas."

amendozachisum Jun 5, 2010:
Does it appear in the text again so that you could check on the meaning? Otherwise, I would go with Jenni and Margaret, because Andy is also correct: there is such an account as legal services fees/expenses
Andy Watkinson Jun 5, 2010:
Legal fees It isn't a typo. It refers to "legal fees/expenses" - in the same way that "atenciones estatutarias" refers to "directors' fees"
margaret caulfield Jun 5, 2010:
It certainly sounds more like "retenciones" from the context, but I agree with Jenni. I'd check with the client, who will probably thank you for the query and for not just putting any old translation.
Jenni Lukac (X) Jun 5, 2010:
I would check with the client "atenciones" doesn't make any sense here. It might mean (something) that is required, stipulated, etc. by law but from this fragment I couldn't give any opinion.
