''Pervieta' " is "patency" but I'm not sure how to translate 'assiale'. Checking "axial patency" in google I only find 4 hits ... is there a more correct, standard expression for this in English?
I only find ONE google listing for the Italian phrase 'pervieta' assiale' ... so, would 'patency' be enough (or 'patent') or does the word 'assiale' add important meaning?

Credo che sia del tutto inutile (come dice ARS) tentare di tradurre l'Italaliano "parole per parole".
In inglese si sa dire "carotid patent" o, meglio qui credo, "patency of the..."
Inoltre, "extracranial carotid trunk" è raro in Inglese; si parla di "extracranial cartid system/arteries/branches".

pertanto, che qs espressione abbia davanti a "carotide" l'aggettivo "assiale", o altri aggettivi, come puoi vedere nel link, IMO non cambia assolutamente nulla; del resto, i pochi link per "axial patency" + "carotid" vengono da siti accreditati, e come dici tu stesso, anche in ITA l'espressione si trova raramente. "Assiale" è assiale (axial), e nn va reso in altro modo. Starei sulla tua stessa intuizione, che mi pare corretta..., :-)) Buon lavoro!
