English term

central line days

English to Japanese Science Mathematics & Statistics
An aggregate data measure in which the value of each measurement is expressed as a proportion or as a ratio. In a proportion, the numerator is expressed as a subset of the denominator (for example, AMI patients who received aspirin within 24 hours before or after hospital arrival over all AMI patients). In a ratio, the numerator and denominator measure different phenomena (for example, the number of patients with central lines who develop infections divided by the number of central line days).

Central Line Days:
This is the total numbers of days a central line is in place for each patient in the intensive care unit (ICU). They are counted at the same time each day; each patient with one or more central lines at the time the count is performed is counted as one central line day.
