"Monofilament ribbon file product" is the technical term for the product known as 'Astroturf'. I am looking for an acceptable way of writing this technical term in Japanese; however, I am currently unable to find anything suitable. I have the name 'Astroturf' in Japanese, so this is no problem, but Monofilament ribbon file product is proving more elusive. Does anyone have any suggestions?

"File" seems to be a typo of "Pile." Apparently the phrase in question has its root in the title used for the original patent for the artificial turf. The title actually reads "PILE", not "FILE."
This ribbon here is actually not a woven ribbon, but a single monofilament itself. It is called ribbon because it is flat. I am not really sure if you can write リボン for this one because this one is so thin and it is not woven. I would rather go for 扁平糸.

I don't claim this is the best translatin (I just got intrigued and did some research), but I hope this will get you started.

Astroturfというのは一言で言うと人工芝のメーカー名および人工芝自体を指す言葉です（絆創膏をバンドエイドと呼ぶのと同じですね）。その技術用語とのことですが、モノフィラメント（単繊条）リボン列製品でどうでしょうか。単繊条もしくはモノフィラメントリボンと呼ばれるものが何列にもなって並んでいる製品という解釈から上記の訳を提案します。繊維関係では、monofilamentはモノフィラメントあるいは単繊条と訳され、ribbonはリボンとそのまま訳されます。fileはこの場合、碁盤の目ではないですけど、縦横に整然とされた列で並べられている、ということを指していると思います。

Wright invented the fiber that comprised the artificial grass, and Faria invented the process whereby the fiber was woven into a base that could be laid over any surface. Faria and Wright patented their invention as monofilament ribbon pile product. Monsanto initially determined that it would market the product as Chemgrass.
Chemgrass became famous almost by accident. When the Houston AstroDome, the world's first domed stadium was constructed in 1965, its owners intended that the playing surface would be natural grass. Despite intensive efforts, natural turf could not be grown inside the AstroDome. Faria, acting without the authority of Monsanto, entered the company into an agreement with the AstroDome ownership to have Chemgrass installed. The name of the product was changed to AstroTurf, a name that quickly became the generic term for all forms of artificial grass used in sports stadiums.
