形跡を残さない閲覧(機能・ソフト・技術など)

I'm guessing that this means the browser does not keep a record of the sites visited.

Depending on the context, it might be better to add 機能・ソフト・技術・方法, and so on after 閲覧. In other words, is it a browsing function? Browsing software? Browsing technology? Japanese often requires a higher level of specificity than English.

Other options for 形跡 might be: 履歴 (browsing history) or 痕跡 (although this might carry a hint of criminal activity, as in hacking) and for 残さない: 削除する、抹消する.
Peer comment(s):

agree Maynard Hogg : 履歴 is the term that Japanese browsers use. BUT, as you point out, the English "history" covers more than just lists of sites visits. Sometimes even cookies, a separate approach.

You're right, but I hesitated to use that here because it's not just history, it's "trace," which could possibly include passwords, ftp up/downloads, and who knows what else. I thought 形跡 would be the broadest term possible.
