I'm not sure how to translate 'tablejades' here. The text is part of a description of Santa Tecla stone.

Thanks for all the helpful answers! I'm really not sure about this one and am going to ask the author. So, I'll let you all know what they say. Chris - thanks for your help - I read the article you cited the other day, but it doesn't shed any light on this either (at least as far as I can see!). However, I agree that nodular and laminated don't normally go together, so that's why I'm a bit puzzled.

tablejades like chocolate?? I wonder if this refers to the propensity of very fine grained sediments to crack on the upper surface into little "tiles". This would fit better with the idea of lower part stratified, upper more nodular. Nodular and laminated don't normally go together. Just a thought. :)

I read the document below, but the rock descriptions are rather brief and unhelpful :(
