English term
nickname for arab/muslim husband
English
Other
Slang
Hi,
I need a word by which a white woman, rather uneducated and rough would call her UK Muslim husband in her family circle with certain affection but also a reference to his culture that is foreign to hers. No negative connotations.
Thank you.

: Habibi - in her family circle with certain affection - perfect. Habibi is either a friend, a boy/girl friend, husband or wife, a relative, or a familiar person to you whom you like in different way. Even if you are calling a person of the same gender, you

: Yes, but with a comment: "habibi" is literally "my friend", and it covers the whole spectrum from admiration of one's life partner to a casual show of respect in a conversation (hence the use of "my friend" as a term of address by Arabs speaking English)

Family circle is just relatives who are close to her but not necessarily immediate family, although it is not really important, I think.
it could also well be that in "her family circle" means: she + her parents + her cousins;
she might well address him as Habibi, but I doubt that she would refer to him as Habibi when speaking with her own parents and cousins;
Asker, more context needed.
More importantly: is you ask for some bowdlerized version of slang, you might as well try squaring the circle ...
