Изделие Jack, "изделие" is the third word in the question: "Холодоустойчивость - способность ИЗДЕЛИЯ сохранять..." The question does pertain to logging and to measurement instruments.

Denis, I have physical and online copies of GOSTs since 1971. The question involved does not state the "izdelie" involved and most likely doesn't pertain to borehole geophysics, a subject I've translated/abstracted Russian oil and gas journals for the American Petroleum Institute for 20 years. The terms also apply to many fields and unless specified, their translation may be interpreted wrongly. The Asker doesn't do this. To each his own...

The first term,Холодоустойчивость, has various translations depending on the subject,e.g.,cold resistance, plant hardiness. The second term , "cold strength," is also used in various fields with different definitions. Also common is "cold tolerance test" with application from humans to plants. The "items" involved are not specified, so a specfic translation is difficult, at least to me, without further knowledge. Without research, we're all dumb translators. The needed info is out there, unlike when I started R>E translation 65 years ago, so look for it, so (impersonal) you can find out what I found--I'm not going to baby-feed you when so much knowledge is available with a few key strokes. At 85, I really don't care if (impersonal) you like it or not. Use your brains and garner knowledge through the vast knowledge sources at hand. Many, too many, Answers are accepted that are entirely wrong, the deaf leading the blind, so in general I gave up Answer not because I know everything, and I never have without knowing for sure the question asked, but because the new generations of "professional" translatiors are too lazy to do their own research, too much CAT,etc.,too little brain.

В идеале должно быть ясно, что речь идет о холодопрочности, а не холодоустойчивости, если в английском есть такое различие.
