ノースカロライナ州リサーチトライアングルパーク (2002年12月3日) ―バイエル・コーポレーション バイオロジカル・プロダクト事業本部は自社の静注用人免疫グロブリン 製剤（IVIG）5％ S/D の製造技術を日本赤十字社に【導出】することを発表した。この【技術導出契約】は日本市場に対するIVIG製剤の供給をさらに安定化させることを目的としている。このIVIG 製剤は、国によってPolyglobinR N もしくはGamimuneR Nの商品名で供給され、先天性または後天性の免疫不全患者の治療に広く使用されている。

この契約に基づき、バイエル・コーポレーションは日本赤十字社に技術移転料等の一定条件下で製造技術を【導出】する。 日本赤十字社は、日本国内に5％ IVIG製剤を製造するための新しい施設を建設する予定で、製剤は日本でバイエル社のバイオロジカル・プロダクトの事業展開を行っているバイエル薬品との供給契約に基づいて共同販売される。日本赤十字社製造の製品の発売は2006年の後半に予定されている。

BAYER LICENSES MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY FOR PRODUCTION OF INTRAVENOUS IMMUNE GLOBULIN TO JAPANESE RED CROSS SOCIETY

Deal helps ensure high quality supply of life-saving product for Japanese patients

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., (December 3, 2002) - Bayer Biological Products (BP), a division of Bayer Corporation, announced today that it has agreed to license its technology for the production of intravenous immune globulin (IVIG) 5% S/D to the Japanese Red Cross Society (JRC) in Japan to enhance supply in the Japanese market. Bayer's IGIV, marketed throughout the world as GamimuneR N or PolyglobinR N S/D, intravenous immune globulin (human) 5%, is used to treat patients with congenital or acquired deficiencies of the immune system.

Under the terms of the deal, Bayer Corporation will transfer the technology to the JRC upon certain conditions including financial considerations. The JRC will build a new facility in Japan to manufacture the 5% IGIV product, which will be co-marketed with Bayer BP's Japanese affiliate, Bayer Yakuhin Ltd. (BYL) under a supply agreement between the two organizations. The expected time frame for launching the JRC-manufactured product is late 2006.
