Norwegian term

automatsikring

Norwegian to English Tech/Engineering Electronics / Elect Eng
The context is a technical specification for various pieces of equipment. The below "automatsikringer" is "effektbrytere". Despite several searches, I get "circuit breaker" as the English translation. There is obviously a difference between these items, and I need a more specific term for one or both of these.

Well, according to ABB, who have an excellent multi-language catalogue, "automatsikringer" are, indeed, known as "circuit breakers", or "miniature circuit breakers" to be more exact. (http://www.abb.com/product/no/9AAC100489.aspx?country=00 ). I think I'm going to have to go for that in this case. Thanks anyway. Will close question.

Thanks, Frode. I'll take this up with the client. That explains the results I got.

An automatsikring is a effektbryter, so I'd say you have a problem there. I'd try to figure out exactly what kind of circuit breaker each type is, and use that:
