Kaip verčiasi šis laipsnis? "docentas" (tiek pilnai, tiek sutrumpintai). Žodyne rodo, kad docent yra amerikietiška forma, kaip tuomet britiškai?

Discussion

Gintautas Kaminskas Mar 18, 2014:
Previous answer was only for US English Ankstesnis klausimas buvo: « Koks yra docento ekvivalentas JAV? » Kadangi Rasa yra Lietuvoje, turbūt jai reikia UK English varianto. Nežinant to žmogaus „rango“, UK English kalbėtojai jį vadintų "lecturer" (o US English kalbėtojai – "professor").

Repeat questions occur because the main KudoZ guideline is very frequently overlooked. And the main guideline is: "Help" KudoZ should be used for requesting terms help only after other resources have been exhausted. Resources available include the KudoZ archives (KudoZ > ProZ.com Term Search from the main menu), dictionaries, search engines, etc. If translations are found elsewhere and the decision to post a KudoZ question is made nevertheless, information found elsewhere should be included, along with an explanation of what further information is sought.

reader

žr. nuorodą toliau, o taip pat pagal Tildės 2012 m. žodyną
The title of reader in the United Kingdom and some universities in the Commonwealth of Nations, for example Australia and New Zealand, denotes an appointment for a senior academic with a distinguished international reputation in research or scholarship. It is an academic rank above senior lecturer (or principal lecturer in the new universities), recognising a distinguished record of original research
---

An incompatibility of ranking systems between different English-speaking countries makes the position of reader difficult to place outside the context of the United Kingdom. A similar title used in some countries, for instance in Sweden, is docent, which is officially translated in English as reader.
