Japanese term

ハンディを突破する

Japanese to English Other Sports / Fitness / Recreation sports metaphor in business
This term describes management, but I believe it's a gold handicap metaphor.

Any help would be appreciated.

neutral Maynard Hogg : ハンディ supports other interpretations—especially since the author(s) used 突破, not 乗り越える.

A complete sentence is all we ask.

You mention golf, so rather than "physical (or mental) handicap (or limitation," I would suggest that you consider breaking (突破) past some border line expressed numerically: sales growth, return on investment, reduction of CO2, whatever.
