I can't figure out exactly where "上方後部" is referring to in the following text.

Also, what would the subject of the sentence be for "不意に落ちつくと、それは…" Is it the audience settling down?

○プロローグ

客電が静かに落ちると、まだ薄暗いステージの上方後部、バルコニーの手摺りの一部が強く輝く。
不意に落ちつくと、それは…
幾何学的にデザインされた球体。アンテナやレンズが突き出してメタリックな印象だ。それが本体内部から光っている。
ＳＥともに目（の様に見える二つの円形のガラス部分）に光が灯ると、声が聞こえる。無邪気な子供の声だ。
