Japanese term

Japanese to English Other Names (personal, company)
This appears as a given name. I think there are various readings for this, but because it is only one character, it is hard to get relevant and specific searches on Google.

If this is used alone as a name, what would it most likely be? Shun? Toshi? Taka? Masa... I have seen all of these.

Please advise.

Thanks.

Given your next question, I assume you are looking for the name of a patent attorney or an inventor. If so, please provide the full name, I might be able to help you then.

Suguru, Masaru, Takashi, Masari, Satoshi, etc...

(Also Shun, Toshi~, Yoshi~)...

according to P.G. O'Neill's "Japanese Names" (Weatherhill, Inc. 1995)

I guess you're in a situation where you're unable to verify this with the client??
Do you also have this person's family name? If so, you could try googling the family-given name combination together with some of the above names in hiragana. Hopefully, that would turn something up. Apart from that, names, localities, etc. could all influence which reading would be more common for that individual...

Good luck, conejo-san!!
