Make big/bigger movements

I heard a PT specialist explaining that, since with Alzheimer's one's movements tend to become smaller, narrower in range etc., the point is to make bigger movements. Does this fit into the context? Otherwise I would agree with Tanaka-san - more context would be needed to translate the expression appropriately.

Make a wide step/ wave a big circle

In English, this kind of instruction needs to be more specific. If it is about legs or feet that are moving, then use "steps" e.g. "take a big step forward/backward"
If it's about arms, then you could say things like "Stretch out your arm as far/high as you can"
This reminds me of the infamous Japanese morning Radio Exercise.
You could say 'Swing big" or "Swing from the hips" It all depends on the context.
