shortcut control
I tried splitting the term and found pages glossing 近回り as shortcut.
3 KudoZ points awarded for this answer.
Comment: "After all, this is it!
I have found a document that uses "shortcut control" for the process described by Funaki-san.
I would love to split the points, because he explained what it is, but unfortunately that's not possible.
I have to give the points to the correct term.

rotating direction control
There are always two pathways in the case of rotation, CW and CCW.
"近回り制御" is a process internally conducted in a servo driver to determine shorter pathway.

: Not always. Because of backlash considerations, some servos operate in only one direction. Digital technology has, of course, eliminate a lot of this.

Of course, "近回り制御" is not applied to one-way motors
