日本語 term

工学系事務部教務課

日本語 から 英語 技術/工学 教育/教授法 university bylaws
I'm struggling with the significance of 系 as well as the difference between 事務部 and 教務課. The first is presumably a department, the second a section? Thanks for looking.

Academic Affairs, Graduate School of Engineering

I am guessing this term might have come out of a document about Hokkaido University since I saw your post with regard to another term from the document. If it is for Hokkaido University, 工学系事務部教務課 is translated as "Academic Affairs, Graduate School of Engineering" according to the university's website.

事務部 is an administration office as Ms. JilFaye pointed out. 事務部 has some divisions such as 総務課 (General Affairs Division), 経理課 (Accounting Division), and 教務課.

I put "Graduate School of Engineering," but if the term is pertaining to the undergraduate school, I would imagine it would be, "Academic Affairs, School of Engineering".

Academic Affairs Division of the Administragtion Office for Engineering

Declined
The first three stand for engineering, the kei is not really relevant, the following three mean administration office and the last three stand for academic affairs division
I'm not sure about the combination of all three terms, but I guess the target term I entered might be sufficient
Note from asker:
I think this is heading in the right direction. OK, so 事務 is the "administration" part, 教務 is "academic affairs", and now the question is how to handle 系, as well as 課 (normally section but not here). 系 is not irrelevant, because they distinguish 部 from 系. Following Chinese, my guess is 部 corresponds to "department" and 系 corresponds to "school". Thus, Academic Affairs Division, Administration Department, School of Engineering
