Does it mean "against" here? Does that make sense, closing contracts "for" and "against" the other party?

Yes, I think it is pushing logic a bit. The only thing stopping it from looking pretty improbable is the mention of the AGB which are "still to be agreed". I presume they are intended to preempt possible damage of one party's interests by the other.

| what I find strange though is that this is an agreement between the two parties, why would one be doing anything "against" the interests of the other (I mean this isn't a clause talking about contractual penalties or non-compete stuff), if you know what I mean. |
