J'ai un doute concernant la traduction du mot "icône". J'ai bien trouvé quelques rares exemples avec "ikoon van de beweging" en néerlandais, mais ce terme ne me semble pas usuel. QU'en pensez-vous?

If you use icoon I would rather place the word "icoon" behind the adjectif: sport-icoon
And if you prefer the use of "boegbeeld" than I would use the phrase: boegbeeld voor de sport.

Je relis la phrase dans laquelle le mot est utilisé et je change d'avis sur le choix ici.
Dans le contexte le mot "verpersoonlijking" me semble plus correct, car il s'agit de beaucoup plus que juste d'etre un icone dans ce context. ps: les accents (graves etc.), je les trouve pas sur mon clavier, mes excuses
