: They are not quite the same, I feel. "面海" clearly indicates that the hotel faces the ocean, while "滨海" does not necessarily so.

中国人讲“会当临绝顶”。滨海只是讲在海边，不一定前面就是海。原句应该是讲出门见海。汉语中没有“面海”的说法。所以叫临海更好。
