“故障恢复”是个比较中性的通称。
But crash recovery is usually an automatic function.
At restart, a system or an application detects automatically whether or not there was a previous crash which cause inconsistency of data stored. For this reason, I would stay with 当机回复.
Try this in China and see if it is to be understood.

: 在大陆好象多数人叫“死机”。“当机”也有人用，还有的写为“荡机”。不过这些都是指硬件故障或操作系统故障。有时机虽没“当”，应用软件却坏了，英文也叫“crash”，译为“当机”就不太合适。
