All we have here is that you asked a question, and you answered it yourself. As more information becomes available, there may develop a consensus later on the need for a new English word based on the Arabic name rather than on the Greek name.

I cannot fault you for adopting the term that you did, especially if you are confident of your knowledge of the instrument. Terms entered in the KudoZ glossary come either from a definitive source or through a clear consensus, which we do not have here.

Hi Fuad , thanks for the comments but I think there is a misunderstanding . I didn't use the word "Bozok" because I considered Mr. Nazih Ghadhban's English an authoritative as you said .. But after a comparison and analysis of what you , Randa and me got .. All the terms mentioned and suggested for the Arabic word ��� were referring to an instrument which may be of the same shape and specifications but with various origins rather than the "Arab origin" which is the one I am searching for .. If "no such word (referring to Arab origin) exists in English" then this point supports what I have done which is considering this word a borrowed with respect to the English language and in this case a transliteration and footnote will introduce the word to English speakers .. Don't forget that the word "Oud" is almost the same case of borrowing ..
So , what do you think ?

Likewise, Mr. Nazih Ghadhban can use any term he likes on his website, but his English usage is not authoritative. You can use the terms that he suggests if you like, but we need to keep the KudoZ glossary as free of questionable translations as possible.

You are most welcome, Joseph. Our answers were only suggestions, so you can use any term you wish, but you cannot enter a word like "Bozok" in the Arabic-English glossary, because no such word exists in English.
