Arabic term

كركب

Arabic to English Art/Literary Mining & Minerals / Gems
A Sudanese text talks about "كركب" happening to a gold necklace. From the context, it is clearly something negative.

Could this be rust? Or is it something else?

Arabic & More (asker) Jun 11, 2011:
I have received final confirmation that this is a woman's name--and it is not a typo. Samaa, if you enter it as an answer, I will be happy to award points for it.
Arabic & More (asker) Apr 23, 2011:
Thank you Samaa and Targama. I had not considered the idea that it might be a name...but this makes a lot of sense, especially since the word appears between parentheses like other names in the text.
TargamaT team Apr 23, 2011:
Samaa Zeitoun Apr 23, 2011:
Any chance it's someone's name?
Arabic & More (asker) Apr 22, 2011:
تنبأ بحصول ( كركب ) على عقد الذهب
TargamaT team Apr 22, 2011:

a Sudanese woman name - to be transliterated, not translated

got it from the asker's discussion point.
Note from asker:
Thank you for the entry, Mohsin. I would, however, prefer to award points to Samaa as she is the first person to have suggested the answer and is the person who steered me in the right direction nearly two months ago.
