Arabic term

البرقل

Arabic to English Art/Literary Cooking / Culinary
A dish mentioned in a Sudanese text.

I was wondering: Is this the same as البرغل (bulgur), or does it have a different meaning?

Thank you for your help.

Bulgur

Sudanese Arabic also maintains an archaic rendering of qaf as [ɢ] (Voiced uvular plosive) while Egyptian (like some other modern Urban dialects) renders it as [ʔ]. The uvular rendering of qaf has been lost in nearly every other Arabic dialect and is also considered a relic.
Note from asker:
Thank you, Dima. This is helpful. The reason I was not sure is because the same text sometimes uses both versions of the same word (on different pages), so I thought it would be better to double-check.
