What's the meaning of "titolo sportivo" in this context (football)?
"Ogni società sportiva professionistica, in possesso del necessario titolo sportivo, deve seguire le disposizioni previste dalla F.I.G.C. per ottenere la Licenza Nazionale relativa alla stagione sportiva 2022/2023."

Discussion

philgoddard May 1:
I was going to say 'licensed', but we have 'licenza' later in the sentence.

sports permit

.. avoids the licensing double-up and overlap with Licenza Nazionale - National Sports (Management) Licenc/se.

Note the English FA referee training scheme: 'To qualify as a referee, you must also referee five games after you have attended the face to face training. You will then receive a *certificate* and an FA Referee Badge.'
Example sentence:

Wiji: Il titolo sportivo è un istituto (eh?) previsto e regolamentato dalle norme federali, che rappresenta l'insieme di determinate condizioni tecniche e sportive che consentono la partecipazione ad un campionato da parte di una società sportiva.

LA/USA: Sports Permits · Recreation and Parks Department organized activities.

Thanks, also for the idea to dodge the Licenc/se overlap.

sports title

In article 20 of N.O.I.F., there are three heterogeneous particular cases that sets of safeguard for the continuity of the sport club and untransferable sport titles.
...
By the introduction of the above mentioned operations (mergers, demergers and transfer of company) the so called succession of the sport title is introduced. Consequently, the Federation has settled limits to its circulation and has set up prohibition of its commercialization, out of foreseen cases. The title transfer agreement should be declared invalid due to the impossibility of the object. This occurred in the interest of the FIGC to safeguard regularity during sports competitions and to guarantee that the sport title is gained on the field only, and does not become subject to exchange to elude checks in accordance to law Nr. 91/1981.

disagree philgoddard : You should be able to tell that this is a terrible translation.

questo non toglie che "sports title" sia corretto, si tratta di avvocati che non sapranno l'inglese a meraviglia, ma la terminologia SI', e il tuo disagree è assurdo

(who) holds "Titolo Sportivo" eligiblity

I think this kind of semi-gloss thing could work, given that there is no equivalent in English.

I think the key word here is eligibility, as passing the Titolo Sportivo regulations would probably grant access to the license.
