Limitation of responsibility regarding customer contracted activities.
It sounds like the supplier is covering the possibility of something going wrong whilst fulfilling a customer request to do something not normally considered to be a usual activity of the supplying company. Sometimes called a "get out" or "escape" clause in a contract. Not always accepted by the court if it ever gets to the litigation stage.

Note from asker:
Many thanks, Michael. It s about a company engaging another to manufacture goods for its own use, a supply contract. The term is mentioned only as a heading providing no other context: Verantwortungsbegrenzung betreffend Herstellung im Auftrag. |

: Not enough context to answer the question intelligently. I say we wait.

German term (edited):
bei Tätigkeiten im Auftrag
for contract work
We also include public liability for contract work as standard.

(UK company)
In GB, we don't do 'activities' or 'tasks'; we do 'work' on behalf of customers/clients.

Many thanks, Andrew. "For contact work" captures the idea entirely. |

Note from asker:
Many thanks, Kim. The context is somewhat scarce, I am after a term that would be more common in the UK but other suggestions would be helpful. Please refer to my message to Michael for more details. |
