Discussion

Olga Karp Mar 9, 2006:
intensive grasing, long-term grazing or just grazing (???)
Jakub Szacki Mar 8, 2006:
Well, I don't know. I think 'przepasienie' is something quite different from 'pokos'. I think that the term pertains to the situation when animals are allowed to eat grass from a meadow for some time. I don't know how to say it in English though.
Matthew Hammond (X) (asker) Mar 8, 2006:

Jakub Szacki Mar 8, 2006:
It is also important to provide appropriate context

overgrazing

If you mean that the animals were "przepasione" then I would suggest "overfeeding"

Overgrazing by large herbivores such as red deer and sheep has been the primary cause of the lack of tree regeneration in the Caledonian Forest in the past ...

Comment: "The Polish: nalezy stosowac w sposob dawkowany, po kazdym pokosie (przepasieniu). Do you still think overgrazing. it's important to get the right expression."
