I have legal, licensed copy of Trados 7, purchased some 6 months ago.

Suddenly, on one of my longer TM's, I am informed that I have no license and that it cannot be accessed because of its size.

The license file is in the trados folder. How do I get the program to access it if it claims it cannot find it? Where in the Trados folder should it be located?

There is no specified location for the locense file Dec 10, 2005

This mans you can place the license wherever you want.
It is very advisable to keep a copy of the license file at a separated location.

To get Trados to see the license file do the following:

  • Go to Help - About ...
  • Click on the License Manager ...
  • There you should find the function for loacting the license file

I cannot see

I cannot see the proper function, as I have only "Change the license location" or "Show Host IDs". In my case the license file is recognised.

Problem solved Dec 10, 2005

Thank you very much for getting me to look for the 10th time at the license program. The button I didn't see the first 9 times was the "add" button.

If at first you don't succeed, try .....

Thank you again and have a nice week.

put it in the same folder Dec 12, 2005

Hi!
I would generate a separate sub-folder under Trados and store my there. This way I know where to look for it at any time, unless your are running on a server. Best regards, Brandis
