German Dutch Engineering Translation Services

Dear visitor,

Thank you for reading my profile.

My name is Hans Lenting. I have an MA in Text Linguistics with a specialisation in Technical Documentation and translating German ⇄ Dutch. I started working as a professional translator in 1988.

Since then I have been translating thousands of technical documents of all kinds from German into Dutch:

Besides this, I have the skills necessary to produce well-written manuals that are easily understood by Dutch technicians and consumers.

I stay abreast of the latest developments in the translation industry by actively participating in a wide range of online forums. I am an active member of the German professional organisation BDÜ.

Because I specialise in technical documentation, I am used to dealing with all kinds of technical subjects and researching and learning about them as needed. One of the most fascinating things about my field is that I am constantly learning new things about the subjects I am translating.

Mechanical Engineering Translation

My main focus is on translation services for Mechanical Engineering, for designing and manufacturing machines and products.

Other areas of expertise

I also focus on optimisation of translation workflows by using smart techniques like AppleScript, Keyboard Maestro, AutoHotkey and Visual Basic for Applications.

I am an experienced trainer and developer of technical documentation and screencasts for the cross-platform CAT tool CafeTran Espresso.

Last but not least: I offer automatic alignment using AlignFactory Desktop.
