Hi Yossi,

The XLIFF Import/Export feature is available in the Developer Pro version of Catalyst, as companies using Catalyst typically expect LSPs and translators to work within the TTK format. Working with TTKs provides additional validation and context, which helps reduce the risk of translation errors and ensures better consistency across the project.

Why the Translator Pro edition does not offer XLIFF export feature? Seems like a basic feature.

I would be happy to buy a translators pro license if it would have this feature.

Hi Magdalena,

Jette from Alchemy Support here. I believe you might be looking for the Auto Translate feature.
This option will translate all 100% matches automatically, starting with the currently open translation unit and stopping at the next fuzzy match.

You can find this in Catalyst under the Power Translate Ribbon > Auto Translate.

Hello everyone! I am new to Alchemy so I have 2 quick issues I need your help with. 1. How and where can I activate the autopropagation feature for 100% matches. I have these segments which turn are 100% reps after translation but they do not autoporagate so I assume there has to be an option for this. Unfortunately I could not find it in my settings. And second, if that is not possible, than can I easily insert it from TM in the editable text? I know how to do it from the glossary but not from TM. Thank you fellow Alchemy users! :)

There is the shortcut: Alt + arrow keys, to cycle though any glossary matches, one by one, which is useful, but not going to cut it if you're working with a massive glossary. No real glossary search is crazy.

Is there any way to search your glossaries for a term in your source text? This is basic functionality iyam in a CAT tool, but there doesn't seem to be any way to do it in Catalyst.

It is running incredibly slowly and I am starting to wonder if this is normal. I'm running the latest ‘Translator/PRO’ trial edition. Running an analysis on my current 2-doc project would take only a few seconds in CafeTran.

There is a lot of talk in the help files about adding TMs in Catalyst, but no mention of how to create them in the first place. This is all very confusing. Can someone give me some tips on how to create a TM (i.e. a ‘.TM’ file) before starting a project?

I managed to add an old .TMX of past translations (created in another CAT tool), but every time I move to the next segment, Catalyst starts ‘Parsing the TMX’ again and again, which is a bit odd. Also, is it normal for it to take so long, for a TMX of only 100MB?

Unfortunately, we can only offer telephone support for clients that hold a support contract.

If you have the Translator Pro edition you could export the TTK to other formats that might be suitable to import into MemoQ, like text format or tmx.

Right click on the file in the Navigator Pane > Export Project and select your file format.

Hi Jette,

We have received ttk files which "hard" to translate with the translator edition due to very long segments that contains a lot of tags.
Therefore we would like to export the ttk files to xlf, translate with MemoQ and then import it back to catalyst and create ttk files.
Since we do not hold a developer pro edition we are looking for someone who can do it for us.

Ideas?
This issue is very urgent. any chance we can continue this conversation on the phone?

I've been assigned with a translation project in a ttk file. It contains lots of repetitions.
Using the filter Duplicates I can see the duplicates. I translate the first duplicate, click on enter and the "magic eye"appears informing me that this translation segment has been translated. What follows now? The repetitions have not been automatically translated. According to instructions found in here, Alchemy support, I should
Click on the first string and translate it using the Translator Toolbar , as follows:
Select the Repeat Translation button to translate all other identical segments.

There is no such button in Alchemy 11.

Besides, (secondo issue) my translation is not entered when I do not change anything in the string as there is nothing to change. Let's say, the string in English is:
Microsoft
In Spanish it should also be:
Microsoft

The translation window includes the word "Microsoft" but in order to save it I should put the cursor next to the word, type any character, delete that character and only them, the Enter button will change the status of my translation.

Third question:
I'm attaching a tmx memory, but the language pairs locales are different: ES-ES instead of ES-LA or EN instead of EN-US, shall open the tm and change the locales?

Hi Valeria,

Could you check if you have saved the TranslatorLite.lic under C:\Users\Public\Alchemy Software\Catalyst 12.0?
Please also make sure there is no other file ending with .lic in the above location.

If the license file is in the correct location and no other .lic exist, can you right-click on Catalyst.exe and choose "Run as administrator"?
If this fails, can you send me your TranslatorLite.lic to [email removed] .

But it keeps asking for a license, and the software is running in demo version.

Hi everyone,

I'm translating a rather large text which includes a lot of identical segments except for one number ("Error 1", "Error 2", "Error 3", etc.).
SDL Studio recognises these matches as 100% matches and automatically inserts the right number.
A similar option in Alchemy Catalyst would same me loads of time and irritation, but I haven't been able to find it (yet?).
When I try to Auto Translate, Catalyst sees these matches as fuzzy matches and I still need to manually adjust the numbers.
Does anyone know if it's possible to get Catalyst to work like Studio in this regard?

the customer did not send me any ttk package which I know to handle, but onlu resource files in source language and target language files to be updated.
I have Alchemy Catalyst 8.0 Sp1 translator edition and Alchemy Catalyst 10 Translator/Light edition.

I understand I need to create a project, but then what? How can I create a TM from what is already translated?

Are you using the free license for Catalyst? What version are you using for example Catalyst 10 or Catalyst 11?

Did your client sent you the files as a TTK package or do you only have the resource files?

I am newbie to the Catalyst and I am sorry if my questions seems obvious for some of you.
From my customer I got an update project, namely I got two folders one with source (update) and one with target (with needs updating). How can I do it in Catalyst? Or maybe there is some other way to do it with Studio, Passolo or memoq?

I am glad to hear you were able to finish your translation work.

Did you have Catalyst installed before? It might be worth once you have time to reinstall Catalyst and see if that resolves the launch issue.

it's really strange, when i double click an TTK file, alchemy catalyst launched without erros, and I finsished my translation in it. but when I click the catalyst icon from start menu, it still display the above error, I don't know why

Hi,

Could you please remove Catalyst 10 via Control panel > Add or Remove programs, reboot your machine after.

Please install Catalyst by right click on the setup.exe and choose run as administrator.
Could you then launch Catalyst 10 by right clicking on the Catalyst.exe as well and choose run as administrator?

This should fix the issue.

Hi,
My OS is win7 64 bit, I downloaded and installed alchemy catalyst 10 and license from [url removed] , but after reboot as required by instruction, the screen displays "catalyst has stopped working", the only option is to close the application.
I wonder how to solve this problem, thanks
