I have worked as a freelance translator since 2004. I do regular work for various clients and agencies. My experience has involved translating academic papers, archeological papers, avant-garde literature, business documentation, civil status and academic certificates, contracts, CVs, documents relating to human rights issues and applications for asylum, environmental and social impact assessments, fashion collections, health leaflets, holiday brochures, information leaflets, kitchen collections and items, letters, menus, newspaper articles, marketing information, witness statements, policy documents, posters, screenplays, short stories, surveys and questionnaires, textile and food labelling, travel and tourism articles, United Nations documentation, websites, wildlife brochures, etc. I sometimes deal with philatelic material and I offer my services to a French genealogy website. I became an accredited translator for the French Consulate General in London in 2006 and I regularly translate certificates and official documents, providing certified translations for the British and the French authorities. I have also done pro bono translations for CRIN (Child’s Rights Information Network) and FIDH (Fédération internationale des ligues des droits de l’homme), and I am a reviewer for Translators without Borders.
Apart from translation, I also offer proofreading and editing services in French (I have a M.Phil in French Stylistics).
