Philadelphia for the Weekend
Positioned between New York and Washington DC, Philadelphia takes the best of both cities and adds some great art museums and a unique submarine experience. The great thing about Philadelphia is that downtown is less than 30 minutes from the airport. Add that it’s only around seven hours from the UK on a direct flight with Delta Air Lines, then the city definitely becomes viable for a long weekend. It has all the buzz of New York, but is obviously smaller and that means you can walk everywhere. There’s lots to see including the birthplace of US independence, some great art museums and a unique submarine experience.
Independence National Historical Park
Start with the Constitutional Walking Tour. It takes you around the Independence National Park area, the heart of historic Philadelphia. Independence Hall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, built in 1753, where the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution were debated and adopted in the late 18th century is the star attraction. Across the street is the Liberty Bell, originally in the steeple of Independence Hall, and paraded around the US for 25 years as a symbol of American independence. The park also contains the first US bank buildings and the 1775 Carpenters’ Hall, the venue for the First Continental Congress of the United Colonies of North America. At the opposite end is the modern interactive museum, the National Constitution Centre.

A randomized, double-blind, multicenter, 8-week trial in patients with acute exacerbation of schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder demonstrated comparable improvement between xxx and yyy treatments on the primary efficacy variables of the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) total score and Clinical Global Impression-Severity (CGI-S) scale, and also for 4 secondary efficacy variables. In this study, xxx demonstrated a significantly lower Movement Disorder Burden (MDB) score and lower effects on prolactin and weight as compared to yyy.
A randomized, double-blind, multicenter, 44-week extension of the trial above demonstrated that treatment with xxx or yyy produced numerically comparable mean changes from baseline in efficacy variables. However, xxx demonstrated lower MDB scores and lower effects on prolactin levels and weight.
In a randomized, open-label study, patients with schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder treated with xxx demonstrated a trend toward improvement in cognitive functioning after 6 weeks of treatment compared to patients treated with yyy.

WARNINGS
Potential risks associated with the use of this system, which may require additional surgery, include device component fracture, loss of fixation, fracture of the vertebra, neurological injury and vascular injury. All the prostheses damaged in any way that can infringe on their aspect or functioning must not be implanted.
Under no circumstances may the prosthesis be re-used.Although the device may appear intact on removal, internal modification due to the stress and strains placed on it, or small defects may exist which may lead to fracture of the prosthesis. Prosthesis removed from a patient or that came in contact with bodily tissues or fluids should never be reused at risk of contamination of the patient.
In order to promote the anchoring of prosthetic plates to the vertebral plates during a post-operating period to be determined by the surgeon, implanted prostheses must not be subjected to excessive movements and constraints as this may result in displacement and even expulsion of prostheses from the intersomatic space.
Contouring or bending of an implant may reduce its fatigue strength and cause its failure. If implants are bent or otherwise damaged during insertion or adjustment, they cannot be implanted and must be replaced.

Policy: Volunteer Release Time
XXX’s commitment to giving and to the community extends to us and through us. You may spend some hours of regular time annually volunteering with a school or nonprofit of your choice. Simply put, XXX will pay you your regular salary to volunteer.
To qualify:
• Your volunteer time must be unpaid and must be spent with a nonprofit organization or an accredited school.
• You must make the request for Volunteer Release Time at least five business days before you wish to volunteer. This is important, because requests can’t be approved retroactively.
• And understand that the time you request is subject to your manager’s approval and the needs of the business.

Admitting to a sweet tooth these days seems rather illicit, what with sugar cast in the role of Public Enemy No. 1. But here is my confession: I rarely go a day without a slice or bite or square of something sweet. If it’s not cake, then it’ll be a cookie, a slice of tart topped with fruit or a slab of dark chocolate, a little pop of joy to accompany a short black coffee or a tall cup of green tea.
But it’s not the sugar I’m addicted to. Rather, it’s the comfort, surprise and delight that dessert, or any food, can bring, that ideal match of the right dish and the right moment. The reason a colorful, vertiginously tall and booze-filled trifle brings so much joy at the end of a party is not because of the sugar in the list of ingredients. It’s because nothing says “sharing” and “celebration” and “ta-da!” quite like it.
And so I introduce my new column for The New York Times, which will appear occasionally and is to be filled with all things baked and sweet.
My cookbooks have been known so far for their focus on vegetables (in the case of “Plenty” and “Plenty More”), the food of my Middle Eastern childhood (in “Jerusalem”) or the food of my restaurants (as with the Ottolenghi and Nopi books). When I started out in the world of cooking, however, I was firmly on the sweet side. I trained in patisserie, and my first job in the kitchen was as a pastry chef. It wasn’t until the first Ottolenghi shop opened that one carrot led to another and I came to focus as much on the savory side of things as I did on the sweet. It was never an either/or, but for a good decade, I was peeling and roasting more than I was beating together butter and sugar, or lining cake tins.
